Krispy Valentine

Everyone loves rice crispy's, Right! Absolutely, so here's my valentine variations of the rice crispy treat.

You will need the following:

Tools
Bowl
A big spoon
A sauce pan
Heart shaped cookie cutter
Parchment paper or foil to lay out the hearts
4 13x9 inch pans

Food
Rice crispy's-THE BIG BOX
2 bags of marshmallows
A box or four sticks of butter
4 different food colorings of your choice
Different color icing tubes to write your sweet nothings on your treats

Directions
Melt 3 tablespoons of butter with 4 cups of the miniature marshmallows in sauce pan over low heat. Stir marshmallows in slowly and then add about 10 drops of one color of your food coloring. Place 6 cups of dry rice crispy treats in your bowl. Then pour your butter marshy mixture on top of the crispys and mix well. Place the mixture in 1 of the pans and let cool. While that is cooling, you can clean your utensils and start a new batch with a new color. After all four of your colors are separated in different pans, you can start to cut hearts shapes with your cutter. Place all hearts on your parchment paper or foil. You will probably have a bunch of left over crispy mixture in different colors. For a tie dye effect, mix them all together and cut hearts out of those too. When done, use your icing tubes to write whatever message you choose on your treats. I wrote names on some of mine and gave them out as small personalized gifts. Hope you like!

SOMBRE

The evolution of Ombre has occurred friends. We now have Sombre. A softer side of the Ombre.

   This is Ombre!

This is Sombre!

You get a little less of the outgrowth look by just adding a few highlights or some Balayage. Plus, this is especially good for people who want to update their already grown out Ombre or those who are too scared to go ALL OMBRE but still like the look.

Back-To-Natural Hair Treatments

Clean, pure, and natural are a few of the main words that we see in many of our cosmetic and hair products today. For companies that mass produce, creating all natural products is an impossible task. To many unnatural ingredients must be used to expand a product shelf life, but as consumers we still want it. So I'm going to share some of my favorite recipes for healthy hair. I'm making this one of my first post because its harder to manage unhealthy hair. The better the condition your hair is in,  the more manageable it will be.

Honey and Vinegar Rinse (especially great for curly hair)

Ingredients
  • 2 cups of cider vinegar (herb infused or plain)
  • 5 to 10 drops of essential oil - Lavender is best because it's the least irritating
  • 2 tbs of Honey
  • An empty glass bottle
 Directions
  1. Mix vinegar and essential oils.
  2. This mixture should be stored in a glass bottle since the essential oils may react with plastic.
  3. When ready to use: dilute 1/2 tablespoon of the vinegar/essential oil mixture in 1cup of water.
  4. Rinse through wet hair after shampooing. Rinse it out with fresh water or, for extra conditioning benefits, just leave it in and towel dry hair.

A left over shampoo bottle can be used too but you'll have to add a cup of your favorite brewed tea instead of using the essential oils. The benefits of this treatment is that it locks in moisture, and repairs your hair cuticles. This treatment can be used up to once a week.
